A DIY gig with an anything goes vibe

Problem Child presents 4 different bands coming together to showcase some of the best music the Newcastle’s Alternative scene has to offer. There is something for everyone ranging from songs about rum and good times to tackling the darker side of life and mocking society. The Globe on the 7th of April is the place to go to if you want to experience what is becoming one of the best Alternative music scene’s in the UK, And its free entry. Starts at 7, first band on at 8, Finish at 11.   

Blackjack 
Formed in 2008 Blackjack are an uncompromising hard rock band from Newcastle. Having coined the term “groove rock” they produce a sound that is easily identifiable, sets them apart and seen them become one of the most successful bands to come out of Newcastle. In 2015 the band released “the gent” EP and sold out the 02 academy 2 in Newcastle a feat that is rarely accomplished by a local home grown band. Off the back of this the band received radio play on FM and online radio as well. With an energetic live show that has the band compared to the likes of Led Leppelin, Aerosmith, Buckcherry, Airbourne, Pearl Jam and Wolfmother they are set to take the next step in their journey with the highly anticipated follow up to “The Gent”.

Auto Immune
Auto Immune are 3 piece band from the north east of England. The band blend different styles of Alternative music together to create a sound that is their own. Having concentrated their efforts on gigging in Newcastle the band have gained a reputation for putting on a live show that keeps you guessing whilst gaining notable comparisons to bands from the 90’s. The bands self-titled mini EP has received nothing but positive responses from fans of the band as well as praise from the music press and is currently enjoying radio play on both FM and online radio.

Box Wallet and the Roadside Shrimp
Box Wallet and the Roadside Shrimp is a 4 piece alternative acoustic band with folk, blues and jazz influences based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The band are formidable live and impress at every turn, their relentless gigging landed them a coveted slot at 2017’s canny fringe festival on the main Alternative stage. 

Devils Night 
Grunge/Rock/Alt band formed in Newcastle. The band’s unique blend has seen them compared to Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Screaming Trees and Bush amongst others. With an explosive live show that has seen Devils Night gain the reputation of one of the best Alternative bands in Newcastle’s ever growing Alternative music scene.
