Winter Food and Craft Fair
at Gateshead Rugby Club
5th and 6th December

"CHANGE OF VENUE - due to advice we have received from our marquee provider about the safety of the marquee in strong winds forecast for Saturday we have changed the venue of the event. It will now be held at the Dryden Centre, Evistones Road NE9 5UR. This is just around the corner from the Rugby Club and has its own car park. "

"Our first Winter Food & Craft Fair will be on Saturday 5th & 6th December and is held at Gateshead Rugby Club.
The event will be held in both the rugby club hall and a heated marquee, with over 70 stallholders confirmed, each day,  with a wide variety of wonderful gift items including north east themed products, personalised artwork & Christmas products, real Christmas trees and locally sourced food products.

Planning is coming along very nicely with a full programme of entertainment for the Saturday and Sunday this includes traditional Christmas carols, The Salvation Army brass band, George Welch & Christine Jeans, Simma & the Acoustic Circus, 2Sum and the brilliant Dave Lynas.

On the Saturday we have characters from Frozen coming along to meet the children and we also have a drop-in craft workshop where you can decorate ceramic Christmas decorations to take home. We also plan to have face painting available on both the Saturday & the Sunday.

We appreciate that shopping can be thirsty work so over the course of the weekend we will have a selection of Christmas ales including:- Xmas Chaos, Santas little smelter, Santa paws, Hapi Christmas, The Great Escape, A Spiced Pear and Brandy porter and a Creme Caramel Stout. Not to forget our mulled wines & ciders
Wear your christmas jumpers or festive headwear with pride and you could win a a family day pass to Washington Wetlands Trust or a pair of tickets to Gateshead Beer & Music Festival.
We are supporting three charities over the weekend. Save the Children will be having a stall selling their delicious jams and marmalades and we will be a collection point for both the Gateshead Food Bank and the Salvation Army toy appeal.

The planning has been a real labour of love and we're all really excited about the Fair and like the beer festival we hope it will become an annual event and bring a wide community together to celebrate local products, services and some fantastic charities.
