A Mini Rock Festival

Think Tank had a crowd ready for a night of blistering rock, and it started with local band Blackout Hotel. Their motoring, 90s style rock was supplemented by a cheeky chappie stage style and assorted biscuits. Come Out Fighting was epic rock with Psychedelic Furs edge. Something about this band i really love, is their interaction with the audience, a great opener.

Next up were Edenthorn (also local) playing hard melodic rock with a nod toward Soundgarden and Dio. Tight 4 piece. They played their upcoming single (possible called There's A Place?) and have a penchant for changing the time signatures around. Their metal waltz Life and Death was a stand-out track for me.

The Raven Age put on very polished headbanging performance which bodes well for their tour supporting Iron Maiden. The powerchord was reborn in Into The Shadows. It is hard not to join in the mosh with this band. A very polished performance right down to rotating who had a foot on a monitor for the best photos.

Skarlett Riot are another "finished product". Skarlett Riot are obviously enjoying every second on stage. Singer Chloe is a happy heavy metal pixie who positively sets the stage alight with her smile. Her amazing vocals were somewhat muffled on this occasion as the sound was just too loud for the PA, sometimes less is more, even in rock. I wasn’t the only one with tinnitus after this gig and I’m no metal gig virgin. The performance however, was faultless. The band are electric on stage and deserve every success.
